![]() ![]() I want new sails that’ll stay strong, stiff, and light, but with a little more forgiveness and longevity than film-on-film. Most of our racing’s doublehanded, and even when not doing doubles we tend to race shorthanded. The new 5ksb’s an Aloha 30, a frac-rigged Ron Holland racer/cruiser that I'm hoping has some potential to scoot (relatively speaking!). The last set of race sails on my old 4ksb were GPL triradials and I like the cloth’s strength and staying power so am considering triradial carbon for the new-to-us ride. It’s offered on their GPL and Carbon Sport cloths. The stuff’s touted as a “sheet of random array, non-woven filaments” that provides similar abrasion resistance to traditional taffeta without as much weight added. Looking for comments and real-life experience with DP’s Lite Skin. ![]()
